To become aligned with All Heart Atlanta, follow these steps: 1. Submit a current card for the discipline you wish to teach before the class. 2. Enroll in the scheduled Instructor Course. 3. Purchase the required Instructor Course materials: - Instructor Manual (SKU # 20-1103) from shopcpr.heart.org - BLS Instructor Essentials Course (SKU # 20-1420) from shopcpr.heart.org (Complete this online course before attending the class). 4. Attend and successfully complete the classroom portion of the Instructor course. After completing the instructor course, you must be monitored teaching a BLS class. Contact us when you're ready to teach. After monitoring, you'll be able to teach BLS/Heartsaver classes. You must also purchase and provide proof of all required American Heart materials. Upon certification, you'll be eligible to teach: - BLS Provider - Heartsaver - CPR AED - First Aid - Pediatric CPR AED & First Aid - Bloodborne Pathogens - K-12 Certification - Friends & Family You'll be able to teach both in-person and blended formats. **Preparing for the AHA BLS Instructor Course:** - Practice your skills using the BLS Instructor Manual's skill check-off sheet. - Study the AHA BLS and Heartsaver course videos. - Ensure you can demonstrate all required skills before the course. - Review the BLS Instructor and Student Manuals and the Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Student Manual. - Complete the online BLS Instructor Essentials Course and email your certificate to All Heart Atlanta. **Required Materials:** - AHA 2020 BLS Provider Instructor Manual - AHA 2020 BLS Provider Student Manual **Required Skill Proficiencies (must be demonstrated at the start of the course):** - Adult and Infant BLS (1 and 2 rescuer) - Lay Rescuer Adult & Infant CPR/AED (Heartsaver) - Using an Epinephrine Pen - Stopping Bleeding and Bandaging (Heartsaver) **Course Monitoring:** - After the instructor course, you must teach a BLS class at All Heart Atlanta under supervision. You’ll receive your BLS Instructor certification card upon completion. Monitoring must be completed within 6 months of the course. **Policies:** - No refunds; cancellations forfeit payment. - To reschedule, email us before the class starts. Rescheduling is allowed only once. - No late admittance is allowed; reschedule in writing if needed. - You may bring a laptop or tablet but must bring copies of your current card and the instructor application.
